Datin Paduka Dr A. Mangalam, also known as Mother Mangalam, passed away at the age of 97. The news was confirmed through a Facebook post by the Hindu Sevai Sangam.
She had been admitted to Assunta Hospital two weeks ago due to bronchopneumonia. Mother Mangalam, a well-respected humanitarian and co-founder of the Pure Life Society, dedicated her life to social service. She received numerous awards for her contributions, including the Merdeka Award and the BrandLaureatte Grand Master Brand Icon Leadership Award.
Born in Singapore in 1926, she worked as a teacher before focusing on the Pure Life Society’s orphanage. Mother Mangalam’s funeral will be held on Monday, and people can pay their last respects at the Pure Life Society in Puchong.
