The Madani Government has announced free tolls on 29 and 30 October 2024 in conjunction with the Deepavali celebrations. This initiative aims to facilitate travel for all citizens, particularly the Hindu Indian community, so they may celebrate Deepavali with joy and harmony.
The free toll period will be effective for 2 days, starting at 12:01 a.m. on 29 October 2024 (Tuesday) and ending at 11:59 p.m. on 30 October 2024 (Wednesday). The initiative, estimated to cost RM38 million, will be fully funded by the Federal Government.
Toll exemptions apply to Class 1 vehicles (private vehicles) at all toll plazas, excluding border toll plazas such as the Sultan Iskandar Building (BSI) Toll and Tanjung Kupang Toll in Johor.
Highway users are encouraged to plan their journeys wisely, make use of the CCTV displays on the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) website, and check traffic updates via LLM’s official social media. The public may also contact the LLM Traffic Management Centre at 1-800-88-7752 for further information.
