In celebration of International Museum Day 2025, which carries the theme “The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities”, the Department of Museums Malaysia (Jabatan Muzium Malaysia, JMM) has announced free admission to all museums under its management on 18 May 2025.
The initiative is part of a global celebration aimed at increasing public awareness of the important role museums play in preserving cultural heritage, fostering community engagement, and adapting to the evolving needs of society.
Visitors across Malaysia are encouraged to take this opportunity to explore the diverse exhibitions and collections housed in JMM museums nationwide. From historical artefacts to cultural displays, these museums offer enriching experiences for people of all ages.
The Department of Museums Malaysia also reminds the public that it is not responsible for any personal opinions or views expressed during the celebrations. Emphasising unity in diversity, JMM encourages all visitors to celebrate differences and support one another throughout this special occasion.
For those looking to explore Malaysia’s cultural treasures, 18 May 2025 marks the perfect date to do so — with free access and meaningful engagement awaiting at every museum door.
