MR. DIY Contributes RM300,000 To PPUMCare

MR.DIY, Malaysia’s leading home improvement retailer, donated RM300,000 to PPUMCare in connection with yesterday’s PPUMCare Run at UM Arena, Universiti Malaya.

The Run was organised by Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) to gather donations to support the cost of treatment for needy patients.

MR D.I.Y. Group Head of Marketing Alex Goh remarked, “As Malaysia approaches its 65th Merdeka, we face tremendous challenges in many sectors of our everyday life.” As one of Malaysia’s top merchants and employers, we want to improve Malaysians’ lives.

This donation to PPUMcare will assist needy Malaysians obtain quality medical care without worrying about cost. We hope today’s program motivates more corporations to support PPUM and PPUMcare, said Goh.

Yesterday’s PPUMCare Run 2022 raised RM 377,000. DatumCorp International Sdn. Bhd., Azlin Jamlus Architect, MED-EL Electronics Sdn. Bhd., Siemens Healthineers Malaysia, and Aeon. Yang Berhormat Datuk Rosnah binti Haji Abdul Rashid Shirlin, PPUM Management Board Chairman, attended and opened the event.

MR.DIY’s partnership with Universiti Malaya has been mutually beneficial. Since 2017, MR.DIY has partnered with UMCares to host an annual nationwide DIY competition for secondary school students called DIY Made Simple. In November 2021, the company gave more than 12,000 undergraduates RM3.6 million in monetary aid and free COVID-19 test kits to ease their return to college post-pandemic. In 2021, the company cooperated with UMMC to create The ZONE for teaching reasons and donated vital sign monitors and personal protective equipment to help frontliners fight with the pandemic.
